I fitted the Brown Davis tank myself, the fitting instructions and the fact that the actual plumbing instructions where minimal did not help my cause.

I could not fit the filler without sourcing an additional 135 degree bend, the parts supplied just would not work.

Once in I'm happy with the result.
Like the other brand tanks mentioned above this one also does not reduce the departure angle.
They all hang down level to the ground lower than the spare did.

Supposedly a proper snorkel and suited for deep water crossings

my biggest concern is how the Disco will behave with all the extra weight, drawer, rear bar, auxiliary tank etc. does someone have the TDV6 with all this options and if yes are you still happy with performance?

wondering what else you can do to improve performance but ideally without sacrificing longevity. Seems like most people do remap or chip but what's next?

    Intercooler, exhaust .....

My ebay one had the guard mounting surface deformed inwards which I ignored then couldn't get the nut onto the top stud without replacing the stud with a longer one. If I had known that it would not pull flat when tightening the nuts I would have put sand in the bottom of the snorkel and used a heat gun to soften the surface to correct the shape.

I have a long ranger tank that I installed myself. A reasonably large job to fit but not difficult. All the bits worked worked well, instructions were good and I'm happy with it's performance 18 months later. There is no major difference to the handling full or empty, a testament to the D3's suspension.

That's interesting, because I have found mine is handling quite differently. Do you have a steel front bar as well? I haven't got my bar in yet, but with he LR tank full it feels tail heavy and the DSC is working more often on unsettling bumps in he road. I am hoping when I get my bar on next week it might help balance it out again.

I didn't notice too much difference day to day driving.

Untill I had both tanks full, loaded up inside with food for 2 weeks, clothes etc + 100ltrs water & the most likely factor - stuff on the roof rack. Then yes I noticed it in the braking & cornering. Acceleration was still ample though.

Lifting the tank into place was pretty easy, just use a trolley jack with a plywood plate on top.

I have all that gear, haven't noticed any performance loss, you notice it when you stick the camper on though, but not all that bad, I have worried too much about a performance chip so far, so all good mate, as for braking performance, that's the beauty of stability control, you don't need to brake very hard.

Just grit ya teeth and hang on
