    Low Coolant Level

    Hi All.

Just recently after driving my 2006 disco for awhile, a message comes up saying "Low Coolant Level", but when I check the reservoir, it appear at correct level (between the 2 lines when cold), but I did add about another 1/2 cup of coolant, but still the same. Could the coolant be faultly, or is there a change to the amount of coolant sits in the Reservoir.

Has anyone else had the same or simular problem?

    All help wold be great.

    Rob

Have you checked the coolant level sensor to see if it's functioning correctly?

    Coolant sensor fault.

There was a batch that became porous after time.

Easiest way is to replace coolant bottle which comes with new sensor.

10 min fix after coolant has cooled down.

    Cheers

Threads merged. Don't post the same question in multiple threads, it splits the answers.

Yep have this issue now, had it intermittently for about 4 months.

It's off for a warranty fix in a couple of weeks

    Hi People,
Just so you know these coolant level switches/ sensors are on EBay for about AU$10 plus postage by a company called DLS.

    Hi again people,
Just as a closing note for my wee problem, bought a whole new expansion bottle including the sensor for just over $100 from the local LR agent this morning. As Sniegy said the job took about 15 minutes to replace, the hardest part is getting the bottom hose clip off and back on. Clipping the top connection and putting your finger over the open top connection on the expansion bottle as you lift the old one out minimises the spillage.
Filled and primed as per the LR procedure all done. And what's more no more messages on the message screen. Brilliant...........
