Thread: Help on decision on used D4

My choice would be the 3.0 litre over the 2.7 any day of the week, unless you really want to do lots of heavy off roadig and prefer 17" wheels.

But that's just my opinion, with either vehicle though consider getting the extended Alliance Warranty and then you will have peace of mind for another 2 years and or 100k on top of the factory Warranty.

I too would go for the 3.0 over the 2.7.

I wouldn’t be concerned about ‘issues’ as most of the issues were sorted out in the D3. There are a few ‘quirks’ but generally it is sorted by software updates. Residuals should be better on the 3.0 too.

Go the 2.7 due to the lower kms and more warranty. Go with the 3.0 if you are seriuosly towing.

I would go the 3.0Lt.
The service history and warranty is very important however.

As a matter of interest, what sort of $ are you looking at?

If it werent for the long range tank and need for a spare wheel carrier I think I would go for the 3.0. Just concerned that it would make it less practical around town and make the vehicle a fair bit longer?

Both are around mid $60ks

The car yard actually has it - they took it off thinking it would be easier to sell so they can put back on fairly easily. Anyone with any experience of how practical it is with the spare on the rear door?

I was looking at that SE at Perth Toyota, I asked them to enquire about getting a decent rear bar and rear wheel carrier through their channels at wholesale price, they reckon they could do a good deal on the car and bar. I'm not sure what bar they have on it, especially since it is removable.
