    It covered the black plastic area, with gaps between the planks.

    The Bajarack is somewhat heavy. It is almost 30kg which chews a long way
    into the dynamic load limit.
    You are absolutely correct. It is heavy because it is strongly made. the brackets on the rear rails are steel and they have 2x1/2 UNC bolts clamping each bracket and a front mount into the roof.

    I was at the Range rover Club meeting last night and one of the members stepped out front to proclaim his luck in not losing his Rhino rack on the Tanami. It had PLASTIC brackets and one bolt which apparantly could not be tightened on each crossbar bracket.
    It slid back to the rear of the car and was in danger of falling off into his van, and the same happened on the return trip.

    BajaRack do 4WD roofracks. Our MD has had 6 people simultaneously jump on his FJCruiser roofrack without damage.
    I know what I would rather have.
