My 2.7 d4 now 2 years old and hasn't had one issue apart from sinking drivers seat now fixed with electric mechanism. Only problem I've had was stupidly getting the less common bullbar fitted. Wish I hadn't done that!

I would have liked this solution even though the sinking is only a minor irritation.

Was it changed under original warranty?

Not sure whether it was under the original warranty or the extended one.
Have a feeling it was the original, as it was still in that period when I first complained about it.

Auto Trans Oil and Pan Replacement

    Hi Sniegy,

How does LR view the auto trans. pan replacement whilst the vehicle is under warranty or extended warranty?

    Thanks

    LR's view on steel pan,
From my experience and asking several different Dealers whilst having car serviced, they do not agree with it.
Maybe there is a dealer/service adviser with common sense because it would be hard to find a LandRover Engineer who said it was detrimental to have your oil and filter changed regularly. Even with extended warranty as I have, and having a steel pan waiting to be fitted, I will wait because talking to most service advisers does ones head in.
Being trained in Failure Diagnosis on Heavy Equipment, I do not believe you could damage the transmission having a steel pan fitted and if you had a fault with trans while in warranty, you will find many more Mechanical Engineers backing you than LandRover in saying it was detrimental in any failure.
ZF Agents fit them AND ZF recommend oil being changed at 100,000kms.
Mine was black as and vehicle became undriveable at 110,000kms. Trans was flushed by a country dealer who seem to understand the dilemma more than the city dealers I have dealt with.

Ever seen one competing in the Dakar ??
For an multiple "World award winning 4WD" you'd think the Dakar would be a shoe-in for 1,2,3 in the production class.
