D4 Delivery was 1 year ago today.

I was looking at the date and realized it is the anniversary of the delivery of my car and I thought how quickly the year had gone and thought I might sumarize.

Order placed August 2011 and construction in October.

    White D4 MY12 HSE.

    Options specified were:
    Adaptive head lamps (bi-xenon)
    Cold climate pack
Floor mats: Rubber set and premium carpet set.
    Mud flaps

    Mods / accessories fitted since:

UHF radio with glass mounted aerial Icom IC 440n
    Front runner rear wheel carrier
Mod to allow the undercar spare wheel to be lowered without raising 3rd row seats.
    6th 19in wheel and tyre
Traxide SC-80-12 for Andersen plug for trailer and two extra 12 volt sockets in rear cargo area
    Tyre pressure monitoring TPMS
    GOE suspension Rods
    GOE compressor protection plate
    RAM mount for Tablet
Front Runner roof rack for roof mounted fuel tank and gas bottle

Total distance driven is 34000km. OEM Wrangler tyres (6 in rotation still have plenty of tread and I can't wait for them to wear out and I'll get some better tyres)

Trips (Not as many as I would like but more than I thought I had done)

Bendleby Ranges (including Billy Goat Track)
William Creek and Mungaranie to see Lake Ayre
    Gawler Ranges and Streaky Bay
    Flinders Ranges
Numerous day trips eg Murray Mouth

    Problems/Faults

It took a while to sort out the radio aerial (don't mount glass aerial on heated windscreen)
A flat tyre in the car park at Willow Springs before driving Sky Trek
The drivers side door seal has a split. Not yet reported to dealer.

I am very grateful to this forum as everything (option, accessory or modification) for this car was researched starting from this site. I am very happy with all the choices that have been made and would change none.

You may notice I have not fitted a winch bar, winch or driving lights. I'm yet convinced I want these. A snorkle is probably next. Watch this space......We are planning to cross the Simpson this year.

I would do the snorkle befor the Simpson so you can suck less dusty air up higher but also the last time I drove the Simpson I had water over my bonnet for a while and did a 4.5 km strech without coming out of the water, that section ranged from knee to high depth. Good fun thou
    Have a good trip

How is this done? Is it something simple, or major modifications required?

I was surprised at how quickly my air filter clogged just from driving my dusty lane without following or passing vehicles.

The mod to lower the spare wheel is one of the easy ones. It really should be a standard fitting. Who wants to unload the rear to lower an under car spare wheel?

The thread linked above by SBD4 is good and there are some pics of my effort (with some input by my brother aka Lanceanot) in a newer thread last year.
