I've had 3 sensors fail in 6 years of trips (not all on my car!) - having a spare makes it an easy fix.

From memory the sensors on my 2005 are different left to right.
I had one sensor (intermittently) playing up on the front but it came good before I could determine which one. I'm going to buy one of each before it returns.
The manual says that the suspension heights should be re-calibrated when replacing (or even removing and re-installing) sensors.
How important is it?
I'm thinking it is to adjust for variances between sensor tolerances and positioning. and you wouldn't see much variation.
Loss of a wheel speed sensor disables terrain response, HDC, and lowers car. I suspect the entire traction control system would be disabled too, as there is no way to judge the slip delta between the wheels. In all of the 3 cases I saw, the sensor failed - the cabling was intact.
