    GOE emergency inflation kit.

For those who have them, is this something you have fitted permanently or is it something you carry with you on a trip to fit in case of emergency.

Permanent fit Andrew. Gordon will give you details shortly.

Just waiting on Gordon to make me one up. Saw it fitted to an LR3 on the weekend. Looks easy enough, but he had it make sure his fittings were all perfectly cut to make sure there were no leaks.

    Gordon.....how long for mine ?

Half of the system is fitted permanently to the vehicle, the other half is deployed when required.

Brett, your system should be ready next week - send me an email for details.

    Cheers,

    Gordon

Gordon can you give a bit more detail of this.? Where are the air up points placed, do these points also double as isolation valves or is there a separate valve somewhere else. And what bits are deployed as required?

    Brett,

I have it on mine and it is great once you get rid of the leaks and once to get the courage to cut the air lines in almost inaccessible locations to install it! You also have to make sure that the air pipes are not pulling on the joiners at an angle, even if the pipes are cut square and not on a bend.

I had one of my joiners pulled a bit tight at an angle by a cable tie and it started leaking slightly on the fourth day of our Cape York trip so that the front of the car was sitting on the bump stops one morning. Took me 30 minutes before we left camp for the day to cut the pipe end off square, refit the joiner and tie it back in a way that didn't put tension on the pipe. There hasn't been a problem since. I also haven't had to use it yet but if there is a problem out in the bush I am prepared and it gives me peace of mind when in remote areas.

I would get the special cutter that Gordon can sell you also as it makes it easy to cut the pipe square where there is limited access.

Based on Bob and others' feedback, the cutters now come with the kit - also useful for making airline repairs!

    Cheers,
