    discovery 3 surging problem fixed

Hi everyone, have read a few threads about the surging problem with some of the Discovery 3 2.7 TD vehicles. I own a 2009 Discovery 3 S and hadthe surging problem. After reading the threads of others and seeking advice from 'The Rover Specialists' in Darwin I had my transmission serviced and torque converter flushed. Probably paid too much but they replaced the sump plate swith a metal ZF plate, zf oil and replaceable filter. Problem solved. No more surging and they recommend another srvice in 40,000 K's. My Discovery 3 has 117,000 kms on it.

    discovery 3 surging problem fixed

Hi Balanda that's great news - I'd be interested in knowing this Rover Specialist in Darwin as we don't have a lot of options up here. Can you pass on some details - be good if he can service my D4 perhaps

    surging problem not fixed

Hi - My D3 with 140k had the same surging symptom so I had the convertor/transmission flushed, metal pan fitted etc etc. The surging and shuddering went away - but after 5000k its back to where it was.

    what's the next step?

Maybe there was some residual crud in the system which just needs flushing out again?
