    Smile New disco 4 my13

Hello all, well I just brought my first Landrover and well it's just amazing I love it got a few things I would like go do to it and would like some helpful hints. Please help. I would like to put a portable fridge in the back but I have noticed the 12v plug in the back goes off after a while when the car is turned off, any ideas, what do you think about dual battery's?. Would like to fit a awning any recommendations on a nice looking and simple sturdy one? Has anyone fitted an awning directly to the roof rails? What's with the short range Bluetooth phone to car I've noticed even if I have my phone in my pocket it cuts in and out? Hope to hear from you all soon. Cheers

    Hi there,

Congrats on your purchase - you will enjoy it more everyday

In answer to some of your questions, I'm sure others will chime in shortly - and remember search is your friend

Dual battery - Traxide is the answer and also a vendor on this forum (search dual battery). The 12v point in the rear of your D4 is not rated to run a fridge.

Awning - I run a Rhino one and love it! One little thing that sold me on the Rhino was the dark colour of the material after seeing many lighter coloured ones go mouldy... You will need some cross rails to mount the awning.

Not sure about your Bluetooth range, mine is so good that I have had service guys come back into the waiting room from what was about 300mtrs to the workshop saying that someone is talking to me all the while I've been wondering why I can hear who has called me! I'd check your phone has the latest software, and also delete the phone from the list then re-pair it. If still an issue try someone else's phone as this is the first thing LR will do.

    Hope that helps

    Phil

The rear 12 volt runs my 12 volt rattle gun. Would run the fridge very easily.

Not sure what sort of phone you have, but mine picks up in the car from 10 mtrs away in my house (through a 2 foot Sandstone wall)

I have similar issues in my MY13 with an iPhone 5. Suspect it's not the phone as I get around 10 meters when paired with my JamBox portable speaker.

There are plenty of reports of weak or choppy Bluetooth signals with 3rd party gear so a fairly common problem

    https://www.google.com.au/search?q=i...weak+bluetooth

This post reports some success by removing any iPhone covers/cases and ensuring the aluminum back of the phone housing the antenna is pointing away from your body when held or in a pocket

I'll try a few of these suggestions today and let you know the result.

Have you had a look at this link? it may give you some additional info:
Bluetooth® Connectivity Centre | Land Rover International

Also, I would try pairing a non-Apple device also to be sure it is not an "Apple thing". If that device also has the same issue then I would be taking the car back to the dealer to get the bluetooth module sorted out - it may have a dodgy connection on the aerial (or something).
    Cheers,

    Sean
