    fuse for parking sensors

My parking sensors front and back have been working well for last year ...but today both front and back have decided not to work

Normally when they are working when i activate them as they are desigined ...ie

    A) put car in reverse
    turn them on manually

the light will come on and they beep if in proximity to an obsticle

but today when i do A and B the light flashes for a few seconds and then turns its self off .....and they make no sound when i drive up to my garage door......either front or back

so Im Thinking have I blowen a fuse that covers them .......there are no warning malfunctions lights on the dash .....and i checked the manual but no reference to a fuse ....so I have no idea what could be the problem

    any ideas ???

    Some extra info will help.

Vehicle type, model year & spec.

    Back to the OP

They normally work, rears, by selecting reverse, the system will beep once to let you know all is well, then will work when getting close to whatever you are reversing into.
No need to turn anything on.

The fronts work differently depending on MY.

    Cheers.

    2011 MY .......3.0 L D4

I have had issues in the past with the front ones going off especially when wet
but never had this problem of "flashing light for a few seconds ....then no reaction to obsticles

The manual says " if system fault is detected long high pitched tone will sound and switch indicator will flash ....contact your dealer " ...............Im getting the flashing light .....but only for a few seconds ....then they seem to turn off ...and no beeping either continously or when close to obsticles .....its like they turn off

For the front ones, that is correct.
They will turn off & you need to turn them back ON when you want them to work, there are restrictions to this also, eg: speed.

This was done due to complaints on the earlier vehicles (up to end of 09MY) as they would continually beep at say traffic lights, parked to close to a vehicle or pedestrians walking past & was then changed for 10MY vehicles.

    Cheers

looks like the flashing and then switching off is normal when a fault is regesterd in the computor

Took it in to my dealer ......Alto artarmon and they put it on the diagnostic computor and found the problem .....a broken wire from one of the sensors was causing them to shut down

Alto fixed it up no problems ...no disputes ........I have found this dealer to be excellent and helpful and the techs there seem to know their stuff ..... all in all a lesson in how to delight your customer .........

so im happy to have this functionality back ....
