Excellent tow vehicle and will obviously use more fuel towing, but still pretty good. You should get 12 liters/100 or better even with a decent load.
Hi all
Very new to this side of the site so be kind.
Those who no me know that I love my defender and have spent a lot of time and effort on her to get it set up to what she is today.
I will be looking at a second car for my wife very soon and am looking at a second hand diesel D3.
I have a Few question that I hope can be answered.
First one is what are the 2.7 diesels like for towing as my wife tows a float fully loaded.
Second is are they decent on fuel while towing we regularly drive to Perth from Exmouth towing either a horse float or my boat.
Thanks in advance.

Can't get a better tow vehicle for power and economy, Period. You and the misses will wonder why you waited so long to get one
Also, you have great support through Wyatts in Geraldton, ( still a fair trip though), no need for a trip to Perth

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
Just towed a 2 tonne trailer and boat with my D3 for about 850km- almost effortless overtaking avg 14 litres per hundred Kilometers. Not as good fishing as Exmouth sadly! Easily sat on 100kph or possibly a little faster when overtaking. I easily followed a range rover for the last 200km much to his horror.I have over 3/4 of a tank left after about 1000km traveled ( long range tanks)
regards James
Cheers guys thanks for the feed back.
Looks like one will be on the cards very soon.
Justin , Whyatts are fantastic to deal with just had the 130 serviced there 2 weeks ago.
