The other guys on our Simpson trip wished they had invested in it, they spent hours trying to restore their vehicles.
I didnt even need to polish mine!

After you have painted the coating on and then you are then out in the mountains decending a steep hill all covered in blackberries feeling smug that you have protection - then at the bottom of the hill you ford a deep river and then have to climb out up a steep blackberry covered hill - is the coating still going to be there after you have forded your deep fast flowing river??

I ask as I understand to remove it you only need to wash it off with a pressure hose - not a lot different to fording some rivers.

I'll post some photos of the many long deep puddles on the Birdsville Development rd we went through. Yes a small section did come off at the bottom of my front bumper. The rest stood up fine. Yes it will turn white and get softer after getting wet but not intsananoius but dries clear again.

I kept it off the black plastic trims, you could definitely put it on the painted ones.

I followed Rich's post and used it on my trip through the simpson also.. Simpson Desert - SA & Vic

I would also recommend it. I put it on everything and regretted it as it sticks to the plastic guards... next time i'd be a bit more restrictive where I put it (just the sides) as it is hard to get off the plastic.

Mine lasted for 4 weeks of abuse and approximately 6,000km and on the way home we passed through a massive storm with heavy rain and 100km / hr winds and it started peeling off then but lasted up till then.

The more coats you apply the thicker it sets.

We drove through heaps of these and it was just blasted off the bottom of the front bumper:

Driving through the desert cross country was a test for the coating:

As Gords said 2 or more coats is required for great protection.
