Premature Ebay-ulation. UHF install Q's.
Calling people who are proud if their UHF install (a unit with controls on the box).
Photos please.
I have just Ebayed a UHF radio that probably is not the one I should have got. It is one with controls on a the box (GME 3500).
While it seems there is a trend to the units with controls on the hand-piece so the box can be hidden under the seat, I am keen for ideas on mounting a small non-DIN, unit where it is discrete but still accessible enough to twiddle the nobs and listen to the built-in speaker in a D4.
The glove-box or arm rest have been used. Any photos of these installs? Any other places people have found to work nicely?
Cheers
Andrew

While I was "testing" GME unit, I had it stuck between the drivers seat and the center console. The install could be very neat by slipping the cabling under the edge of the center console.
You could use twinlock velcro to make it a semi permanent install. When the hand piece is not in use..shove it in the center bin.
