    Tyre noise

I am obsessed with noise. A year or so ago I bought a new D4 because I had been told that it was even quieter than my Defender. It is.
At 48,000 k's the tyres are nearly finished, and have become more noisy.
Can anyone suggest a tyre please that is quieter than the standard HP Wranglers fitted from new? I would like something with better off-road performance than the Wranglers, but realise I may have to compromise on this for quietness.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

GG ATs. Good tyre for general use not too noisy.
Wranglers get very noisy when worn and puncture if you look at them.
    Very happy with GGs.

I ran Pirelli Scopion ATR's on the D3 and D4 and found them quiet enough.

Yes Wranglers do get noisy when they get old and puncture prone. I replaced with GG AT 2 on my D3 but found them a little noisy..sounded like a bearing. Wasn't though..
Replaced worn Wranglers on my D4 with GG ATs.. Great tyre (apart from soft sidewalls) but I found them very noisy at 90-100k, so noisy I swapped them with another forum member for his almost new Wranglers. Much quieter. Don't know what I will do when Wranglers have worn out which won't be long.
Only need road tyre as a I have a second set of excellent BFG KM2 s for offroad.

Agree with Jools - GG AT's are not quiet!
Probably only the Pirelli's or Continential may be as quiet as the Wranglers.
Other members who have these tyres will know best.

My RRS started with Wrangler F1s - quiet but not much chop offroad. Then went to D3 OEM Wranglers which are puncture prone, a bit noisier and not much chop offroad. Now on GG ATs - as mentioned a little noisy (same as D3 Wranglers) sounding like a dodgy bearing but only on really smooth roads - on course bitumen you cannot hear them and are OK offroad.

I have been previously recommended cooper zeon ltz but I'm still waiting for my d4 to arrive do I can put them in straight away. So if any one wants a full set of the standard good years ill have them available mid June, with less than 20kms on the clock(delivery Kim's)

All ATs are noisier than any on road biased tyre would be.
I give asn indication of noise; when I changed my worn Wranglers for GGs I found the noise to be less.

I agree with jools - good tyres but obnoxiously noisy at 90-100 esp when worn and very noisy on some surfaces. Good tyres overall on and off road but ... the noise at 90 drives me nuts.

Has anyone tried the Hankook Dynapro ATm (RF10) in 255 55 19? As I am almost due for a new set that is one that I have been considering but not much info around.
