Needs a manual gearbox option too.
They have stripped out everything that we as owners (well I have and I'm not the Lone Ranger) have a problem with out the desert, days from any help in extreme temperatures. :mad:
How about sticking some engineers and software writers in some "off the floor" cars for a trip out the desert and improve what they are selling to us.
That's why there is never any production Discovery's or Rangie's in the Dakar.
I would be interested;
Low pressure turbo
8 speed
ediff
50mm spring lift
32" tyres
5 seats
If they were $10k below TDV6 that would be great.
Can't currently have e-diff without TR.
TBH, the things that set the Disco apart are its on road handling and its awesome TR response off road. All which are possible only with the air suspension.
I would buy a Patrol, or a Toyota, or possibly even a Ford Ranger or VW Amorok if you took all that out of my Disco. :eek::wasntme:
To make a Disco expedition ready add in a LR tank, put the spare back on the back and put in manual suspension air up points in case of compressor failure and a big red fault code clear button on the dash. Oh and OEM Llams:D
Surely terrain response could be developed as standalone from air suspension, all it really is a further development of traction control.
Don't the other manufacturer's have terrain response now with out air suspension.
Landrover coil suspension is far better than some others.
