    My2013 Tailgate

    Hi All.

Having a pain closing the tailgate, every time when I close the upper tailgate, it just won't latch. The only way to lock it, is to have a large amount of pressure in the center of the tailgate, so it doesn't rebound. It may only need some adjustment, but dealer says it will wear in, lol.

    All help is great.

    Robert

That's not right, it shouldn't be hard to close. Mine was opposite on delivery a little loose when closed - asked dealer to adjust it and now it is a firm close.

    Rubbish.

Mine was the same on delivery, always had to slam it. Went back to the dealer for adjustment - no problem. Was a quick job, now its perfect.

    Take it back to them.

What is wrong with these dealers? I keep reading this stuff about about people being fobbed off with stupid excuses - do they think we're idiots? Hopefully, they'll be the first up against the wall when the revolution comes.

I do not have this problem with my dealer. The guys at the service dept bend over backwards to help me.

(Sorry, I'm a bit cranky tonight)

    Cheers,
    Jon

MY12 hard to close as well

I notice that my (new to me) MY12 is also hard to close. For the first few weeks I was always having to get out and re-close it, quite firmly. I have gotten used to it now but it does need a good firm hand. I thought it was just the way it was.

Previously I had been the family's constant nag about slamming car doors and boots lids- now I have joined their ranks.

Must put it on the list for next service.

Generally they are pretty good, but still awaiting my long roof rails, and one of the screws in the right of the boot (covered by the top tailgate) is rusty. Apparently awaiting parts from UK.

    Still awaiting photos...

Don't blame the dealer for your roof racks. Must be nil stock if they can't supply them.

If that's the case it's Land Rovers fault.

It's the roof rails, and the wrong ones were fitted at the factory, hence the problem. Unusual that no long roof rail exist in Au; the screw bit I can understand.

Yea but how is that the dealers fault? Dealers have not one thing to do with factory.

Hunter prestige motors have the extended rails in stock, just had mine fitted last week, really finishes off the look of the car, now for the grill and the vents.... They are due in on Friday HPMG keep a fair bit of stock for Landrovers and service department are very helpful, I couldn't recommend them enough. No I have no ties with them, just very happy with their staff and attitude

Because the rusty screw and roof rails, although reported to the salesman within the first two weeks, was not actioned until I went in for a complimentary service. Apparently it had not been communicated to the service dept.

Then to compound things, they said the rails will be fitted if I can spare another hour or so, at which point roof racks were fitted, and had to be taken off again.
