    Whine from the rear!!

    Hi All,

Still loving the D3 V8...... but! I am hearing a very short momentary (approx 1 second) whine from the rear diff?? during acceleration from standstill very close to the 2nd to 3rd gear change particularly when on a slight incline???? Has anyone else heard this before. Its very faint at this time and under the statutory warranty from the dealership as under 5K/3 months from purchase. She's done 112K only and is a 2005 build. Its definitely coming from the rear of the car and can only think its the rear diff??

Could be the rear drive shaft or axle shaft or it could be just a noisy shock.
    Cheers Baz.

I had a similar issue show up. It was more than 1 second though, and was frustratingly intermittent. It was mostly during acceleration up steep hills or in the slippery stuff.
Was a pretty simple fix, didn't bring the misses on the next trip.
