I rang a mate to find out the price of the jack from Mercedes, $740 RRP, $680 Trade:eek:
Baz.
Put me down for one as well. Just had major stuff around with OEM jack when out bush last week , a mate saved the day with a couple of bottle jacks.
Looks like your going to have way more than ten requests Rich. ...
Might be a case of you get ten or how ever many it is to keep it below $1000 and the GSt threshold and another member orders another batch if and as required then Customs won't jump on you for order splitting the second batch.
Just trying to think outside the square.
Overall I have found screw type jacks more resistant to rough treatment as often occurs with use in 4WD applications than hydraulic ones. they will also work equally well sideways or upside down, which hydraulic jacks will not. Recently amongst items purchased in auction lot, I acquired two similar sized short automotive screw jacks which appear well made. Have been told they are types used in Toyotas. I would much prefer them over the hydraulic ones illustrated.
For those who think that advocating something from Toyota is sacrilege on a Land Rover forum, remember that the Toyotas they came from have almost certainly died.
THIS is what I want for my vehicle Quaddro Technologies - WORLD'S SAFEST 4x4 Off-Road Vehicle Recovery Mechanism....been waiting for ages for them to get their "production" underway, they seem to move at glacial pace :o maybe 2013 will be the year I can finally buy one.
if they are as good as they look they'll be the answer to our crappy landrover jack problems....
If the group buy is still on then I will be in for one too.
Count me in as well please
good stuff!
