    Hi Josh,
Are the holes centres 50mm apart? I started making a ‘tool’ tonight with 3 holes at 50mm spacing centre to centre but it didn’t seem to fit and I needed to elongate the holes.
    Thanks

    Re-bumping an old thread.

This is my modified Td5 tool which I repurposed to use on the 2.7 TDV6.

I've only ever used a big shifter with a single sharp knock from a small sledgie to loosen both my previous 3.0 TDV6 and 4.4 TDV8 fans. The TDV8 was being stubborn until I tried the other direction.

I use the spanner trick also. First time I removed the fan it took a couple of fairly hefty whacks with a larger hammer. Every time I take if off I give the threads a wipe and smear of grease. Since then it's taken nothing more than a thump with the heel of my hand.
