Might pick one of these up on Tuesday with the same setup as above, remove factory rails and fit theirs. Anyone else had experience with it and recommend it? So far one person... I found one for half the price of a Rhino...

I put mine on last weekend.

    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/l319-disco...ml#post2587971

The sixth wheel goes on tomorrow afternoon.

As I said in Babs thread, no wind noise with nothing on the rack, although I have not tested it past 110kph.
    Cheers, Dale

Fitted a slimline 2 rack with the new FR rails yesterday to mine.

Compared to the Expo rack i removed the noise is deafening!
Above 50 mph it's really bad.

Looking at making some sort of deflector for the front and a flooring to help lower the noise as i can't live with that.

I don't know how you all have no noise from it!

The second picture in my link shows the wind deflector. I'll post a better picture later today as that one was taken just before dark.

Does yours have a wind deflector under the front slat?

This is the wind deflector. Comes in two bolt on parts.

This is my rack from the Front Runner website:

    https://www.frontrunneroutfitters.co...imline-ii.html

You can buy the wind deflector as a seperate part too:

Put the wheel on top today and at 50mph (80kph) wind noise barely noticeable. 62mph (100kph) noticeable but not serious. In the driver's seat I can still hear the whistle from the wind on the snorkel above the tyre-on-roof-rack noise.

At 68mph (110kph) it was noisier again but not by much. Ambient conditions were windy too so some buffeting to contend with.

Looks like they have made a different version of the wind deflector these days.

On the older version, the wind deflector was a plate which ran from under the very front lip of the rack back to the second cross slat, and then bent down under the second slat.

This design suited me well, as I was able to fit a 42" Baja Designs Stealth LED Bar in between the front mounting legs under the first cross slat of the rack.

    Cheers .........

Yes it is different Brian. Two pieces both angled rearwards and downwards. Works well.

Got that deflector fitted to mine.

It's a loud whistle at speed, a drone above 50 and the roof resonates in the wind...
Have my idea mocked out on cardboard so will get it started soon to make in aluminium and take it from there.
