    Momentry whine!!! answered.

    Hello All,

Just thought I would update all on my new purchase woes!!
Having picked up the 2005 Disco 3 V8 from a NSW Toyota dealership last month I had a problem engaging the EPB, it would screech terribly. Then we had a grinding sound from the front right Rotor and a momentary whine from the rear when under load from standstill. I contacted the dealership from which I purchased and through the statutory warranty got it checked out by one of their "partner" dealerships (Byrne Ford) in Geebung. The front rotor was an easy fix as a bolt had come loose and was wearing a groove in the inner new rotor!! The EPB and whine had them stumped so off to Land rover in the city for an inspection. The EPB needs a new controller and the whine was from the rear diff SO a new EPB controller and rear diff is currently being installed by Ford (Land rover labour rates too high for warranty). I am being told it will go back to LR for the EPB set up using the software??
I can therefore assume that the dealership from whom I purchased it pretty much took it in on Part ex, cleaned it and put it back into circulation without even a slight look at it??? 100 point check my arse! Well this time I guess its shot them in the foot as the bill will not be small so any money made during sale has dissipated in this fix.
A win for the minions Lets hope they use genuine parts!!!!!!
