Got to find some nuts - wheel nuts for RWC

I need 3 oem wheel nuts (18" alloys) for a new RWC on my D3. Where is the best source for them that do not charge a kings ransom? I have checked fleabay, but that will take too long.

    $20 each is outrageous!

Also, what have you done to stop people stealing spare wheels mounted on RWC's?

Would a bike security cable through the wheel and carrier arm do the job? I use them through the gas bottles on my van but AFAIK they've not been proven.

    locking the wheel-RWC

Kanulock (KanuLock - Stainless STEEL Reinforced Tiedown Straps) has couple different lengths of lockable roof tiedowns (for surfboards etc); I use one to wrap through rim few times and around the RWC frame. Fairly neat and tough product, key-lock solution, not easy to cut etc. Not perfect, but will certainly slow down even a determined raider with average tools.

Land Cruiser 200 nuts will fit - fine for a RWC.

    Cheers,
