    P010D error code

    Hi all,

Wife was driving the D4 today when dreaded engine light came on with the engine proficiency message. Scan by local mechanic (who I trust and does work on other vehicles for us) shows P010D error code. Besides cleaning the mass air flow sensor and air intake/filter, are there any other suggestions, or will it need to go to a dealer? Should this error code be able to be reset?

We have about 125,000 kms on the clock and regularly serviced, with no issues to date. I am out of town at the moment so trying to support remotely.

I can help you with what it says in the workshop manual:

-Using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system check datalogger signal, Mass Air Flow Sensor 2 Voltage(0x0503)

-Check mass air flow sensor circuit fuse. If fuse fails, may see DTCs P0103, P010C and P250C

-Check air cleaner element is free from restriction

-Check for blockage in air intake system

-Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check mass air flow sensor bank 2 circuit for high resistance, open circuit, short circuit to ground, short circuit to power

-Check and install a new mass air flow sensor bank 2 as required. Refer to the warranty policy and procedures manual, or determine if any prior approval programme is in operation, prior to the installation of a new module/component
    Cheers,

    Thanks Sean.

They have cleaned the sensor, checked the intake and filter, and the damn light is still on. Moved to last item on the list and ordered a new sensor. Will be fitted tomorrow.

The wife wanted to know if she should order two. At $420 for one it didn't take long to think about. Knowing my luck, I will need to replace the second next week.
