info on aussie car parts - after roof rails for d4

Noticed they have 'like land rover' roof rails and cross bars at a far more reasonable price than genuine. Anybody have any experience with the firm or it's products.

Link to the product I am considering

The copies don't have the curve to follow the roofline quite as true.

I wasn't willing to chance it - Genuine only or choose a rack system like Rhino

I purchased mud flaps from them. The rear flaps didn't fit because the D3 rear wheel arch design has changed over the years and they were not aware of this. They offered a full redund, but instead I chose to wait while the sourced the other type from China. They have very good customer service, but I can't comment on the roof rail product quality. I suggest if you're interested, you call them up and discuss any concerns with them and then see if they'll honour a return if your not fully satisfied.

    Hi All,

I also wasn't willing to take the risk and have just recently sourced genuine LR long roof rails from Duckworth parts in the UK (:: Duckworth Land Rover Discovery 4 Towing & Carrying Accessories) for $700 (which included the 94 quid delivery fee).

Duckworth's customer service was fantastic and they arrived 3 days after the order was placed.

ULR offered me a 'special' deal that they could do them for only $830 incl. GST.....gee thanks....

What are you fitting roof rails for ? Check out my pics on the Frontrunner slimline roofrack post. This rack mounts direct into your riv nuts in the roof channel. There are no roof rails required.

After spending some time researching (and procrastinating) I decided at less than 1/2 the cost of genuine I’d go the copies from Aussie Auto Parts.

I’ve seen the genuine fitted to a D4 and except that the copy are gloss black vs the genuine satin/flat black, they appear identical to me.

You have to watch the YouTube clip on the Aussie Auto Parts web site as the Chinglish instructions were hopeless (else you can get the genuine instructions here: http://media.disco3.co.uk/ownerinfo/...20LR006442.pdf)

While they came well packaged, there were 2 missing screws. I ended up sending $6 on some quality stainless steel hex head screws as I found the star-headed screws easily stripped-out (but that could’ve been because the star-driver I had wasn’t a perfect fit…)

I didn’t have any problems with the slight curvature of the roofline as aluminium easily shaped into place as it’s screwed down.

As for quality, I found the paint cover lacking inside the grove where the bars attach, but it can’t be seen unless you look at it closely from above the roofline.

    Land Rover RRP
    Cross Bars $696
    Roof Rail Kit $1,009
    Total $1705

    Duckworth
    Cross Bars £167.13
    Extended Roof Rail Kit £294.00
    Shipping £134.00
    Total £595.13 (@ 1.69) $1005.77

    Aussie Auto Parts
Roof Rail Kit & Cross Bars $429
    Shipping $37
    Total $466

I've got the same rack on mine - works well.

But I didn't get the railing that you have around the back of your rack - did that come with the rack or have you sourced it separately.
    Cheers .........
