Did anyone else see that black NSW registered MY10 diesel HSE with about 40k on the clock advertised for sale on Carsales for $52.5k?
Had been advertised for a while and he jsut kept dropping the price until it went. ....I missed it by that much! :(
Still it shows that the price is coming down if you want to sell something at the moment.
Hmm, can't give you actuals other than to say off-road I budget for 350k's max, 400k's around town and 500k's hwy.
It's the most economical of the 4 V8 discos I've owned. (1 if each gen) and by far the most fun to drive.
Over the course of quite a lot of highway driving last week I was getting a range of about 640Km's in my 2005 D3. I usually had to fill up at the 550 mark due to fuel station spacings but it wasn't a full tank that went in. That was just cruising around at 110km/h or 80km/h on the smaller roads.
Geezz Terry, there's still a very nice D3 V8 HSE going cheap in Canberra:)
I would say he wants a D4.
The D4 is much much nicer than the D3. For one it comes with everything standard except for metallic paint and secondly everything is more refined.
eg. HDC works in a much more refined manner and holds the speed down to what you have set, the D3 let the speed build up and then tried to catch it using agressive braking. The D4 stability control is a lot less sensitive, especially with a trailer, I have only activated it once whilst towing on the D4 while on the D3 I had to turn it off because it was so annoying. The D4 terrain response settings and traction control seem to work better as well and I see less wheelspin when off-road.
I have noticed that the fuel consumption rises significantly with M/Ts and I am keeping the 20s for highway and normal use at this time.
I did a trip to Wyangala on the long weekend towing our camper trailer and with M/Ts I was averaging around 20-21l/100 on the Hume so not so good.
Luckily I have the auxiliary tank.:)
Towed the camper to Macksville and return over the last week and averaged 14.8 l/100. This was on the 20" wheels and being judicious with the throttle on up hills, although I didn't let the speed drop below 80 km/h, cruising at 95 on the flats and up to 115 down hill.
