How many seats in a new D4 TDV6

    Hi,
A bit of a silly question.

How many seats are in the 2013 D4 TDV6. The brochure states 5 but I got a quote from the local dealer and he has included an extra $1700+ for 7 seats which I do not want.

I did ask and was told this is how they come now. Is this correct?

I rang LR themselves and they did not realise that the brochure said 5 seats until I pointed it out but then could not tell me if this was true or not and whether something has changed.

I can ring the dealer but hoping to get some inside info first as it the TDV6 now come standard with 7 seats why do I have to pay extra for them .

If they come with 7 seats, then why quote extra for the seats ?
And if he stated that that's they way they come, and its not the case, he has breached the Trade Practices Act.
Maybe contact another dealer to see if your dealer is honest.

The website says 5 seats standard, 7 optional:

I think there are some pork pies being told....

    Hi,
No other dealers here but if I go through with it I will not pay for 7 seats. If it comes to that I will just not buy or get a different type of car (LC 200).

Thanks for comments, what you say is what I thought.

Some dealers pre order option fitted and call it their base spec. Your are correct TDV6 is 5 seats with option for 7.

Do a search on Drive or Carsales - you'll see plenty of examples there. Don't let one salesman get in the way of you getting the car you want. Ask to speak with someone else or make some phone calls to Sydney dealers.

    Hi,
Not from Sydney, any recommendations of where to go/call.

I am not sure how it works if you buy interstate with paying stamp duty where I am but will have to find out.

I have a few things I want (ie wife wants) so may be hard to find one "off the shelf" but it may save a lot of money doing so.

You need to PM sneigy on here.

Works for a dealer in Melbourne and is very helpful.
They will sort out stamp duty, rego, etc if needed.
    Easy done

I didn't want the 7 seats either but hard to find one that had 5,unless we waited around 3 months or so for one to come in.
They also recon the 7 seats are much better for resale....

    Good luck.

    Paul,
You may have a point on the resale bit but as I plan to keep the car, if I get one, for a long time I would rather have the $1700 now to spend on other things. But in the grand scheme if things the cost is not that much. I just got a bit PI#$d that I was told a bit of a wobbly. To be fare I may have misunderstand what was said at the time.

The LR dealer in the ACT is often one of the most expensive in the country if you compare their advertised prices to other dealers.

Like others have said give Sniegy a go.
    Cheers,
