The engine is the same although ancillaries may be different
Dos any one know if the ford territory TDv6 engine can be fitted to the RRS or disco 3, as a replacement engine or parts there of ???????
The engine is the same although ancillaries may be different
Is it more ... reliable... ?
- Or cheaper as a new/crate than LR ?
I recall reading that LR reworked some areas of the original version such as the front crankshaft seal and sump to make it better handle off-road use and angles but don't know if Ford Aust used the LR version or not. I had been told that the LR ancilliaries were used to minimise the Territory's R&D costs but don't know how accurate that info is. Ford Aust fitted a fuse in the alternator B+ circuit but that's only wiring.

I recall something about the oil pickup being different as well?

on a slight side note, apparently the guys at TRS in Adelaide have figured out how to fit a 3.0 ltr with a single turbo to replace a 2.7ltr. About 15-16k drive away but they have only done one at this stage. Just a curious point.

The Territory TDV6 only has 127Kw, don't know if certain things like fuel injection and so on are different.
Cheers Baz.
