    D4 second Battery

Has anyone placed a second battery into the D4, after a D3, where the second battery fitted easy.

A PM to Drivesafe would be a good bet. He sells D4 specific dual battery kits and trays.

    Dual Batt. D4

M8,contact TRAXIDE here in QLD. Brilliant guy (Tim I think) to deal with. He supplied me with Battery tray, isolater kit + all hardwhare n simple fitting instuctions for my D4. Plus(aux) battery contact in Canberra. All installed n working perfectly with Yellow Top Ultima Batt. At a very reasonable price delivered to my door in Mackay QLD.PS. My Engel now runs 24/7.

It can be done but you need to move things around.
Not sure if there is a post on AULRO but there are some threads on disco4.com.

Hi Rob and there are two positions to fit an auxiliary battery ( or two ) under the bonnet of a D4.

This picture shows the Yellow Top batteries in both positions.

The mount on the left ( passenger ) side is the easiest to do.

Rob, do a search through the D3/D4/RRS forum. You'll find a few "how to" threads with pics and all.

How do you get the aux battery in the spot close to the windscreen? I have your system and have the battery in the other spot and would have to move electronics and hard brake lines out of the way to fit a battery and there is no tray (yours is perfect for behind the headlight though). The reason I would like to do this is I would like to fit a compressor but can't find a spot.

I believe this thread is the one you are looking for.

It has the detailed illustrated instructions for how to clear the tray, and if you keep scrolling there are several pictures of the battery in place. Hope this helps.

There was a pic on here with an air compresser mounted where the battery closer to the windscreen is situated on Tims pic.

It may have been one of Sniegy's posts/threads.
