    Loose upper tailgate latch

Hi there, couldn't find anything with a search. My upper tailgate is rattling and won't close properly without a lot of pressure on the door. The problem is that then portion of the latch on the upper tailgate is very loose, but there are no easily obvious screws or bolts that can be tightened.

Any one else had this and have advice for tightening up ?

Andrew, the two "wedges" with a spring centre section on the body either side of the tailgate may be worn, and/or the parts attached to the tailgate itself (where the gas struts attach). That was the cause of the banging for mine.

Thanks sheerluck but the loose bit is actually the metal D shaped loop bit which is the bit that the latch from the bottom door locks into.

Don't worry, I figured it out, helps when you look at it in daylight with your glasses on

Pull trim surround off, two bolts tighten them up, push trim surround back on Bob's your uncle.
