    Rear Air Conditioner Vibration

With the hot weather our vibration is back in the rear air, turn it on and raise the fan level and the vibration gets worse, doesn't happen when the weather is cooler.

Not as bad with the top light on, but set it to the bottom light setting and you would swear someone was drilling for coal

    Sounds like a garage compressor

Hey Baz mine also does this when on high, I think the bearing for the rear air fan might be shot, I'm taking mine to the dealer in early Dec to have it looked at. It only does it on the highest settings. I usually set the knob behind me in the roof to midway and press the rear air button to highlight under R not auto and that seems to work prevent high speeds. But if it's hot and you run auto for the rear air it'll vibrate as it's on high.

Probably the fan wheel out of balance,or something caught in it so it is thrown out of balance.
Suppose i should check mine, hardly ever use it.

I run mine on auto, most of the time, mainly because I don't trust the kids to set the rear properly without just mucking around with it.

I must admit I have never heard any noise from it all, even when I have been in the third row. Mind you, we have not been anywhere seriously hot so it may not have got to the highest fan speed.

Have the kids dropped anything into the air intake? The panel comes off very easy & you can then have a clean also.

Mine is completely silent. I don't have one!

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Well my problem was the fan was coated in dust and mud. Must have been the cape. Sucked on a lot of dust and built up on blades and threw it out of balance. LR cleaned and all good

OK an update for this, we finally got around to fixing this issue, so out with the drawers, off with the back passenger side panel, 3 screws and out with the rear air motor, the impellor/blower fan was absolutely covered in dust, so down to the garage, blow it clean with the air compressor, clean all the dust out of the space around the rear air radiator and put it all back together to test.

All good now, no vibration, quiet as it used to be, replace all the broken clips, courtesy of a trip to the dealer with new clips, put the trim back properly drawers back in, just in time for lunch, an hour and a half all up.

Not the "oh yeah that's a big job" phifff

How was the air filter for the air suspension?

Mine was full of dust behind the back panel but the air filter was surprisingly clean.
