    Has anyone had this happen

    Gday All,

I haven't had this problem, but it did on my D2.

1 - What happens if the batteries in the key fob go flat ?, Does the car need a key code access to disarm the immobiler.

2 -What happens if the main battery goes flat whilst the car is locked?

    Cheers Ean

Apparently(D4) if they do go flat, you can use the key to open the door and then you can scan the fob under the dash to allow you to start the car, like swiping a keycard, that's the theory anyway.

And if the battery in the key fob goes flat go and buy a new battery - CR2302 from memory. It's easy to fit!

If the vehicle battery goes flat whilst it's locked you would need to use the manual key located in fob to open the doors.

Then you can pop the bonnet and change/charge the main battery.

CR2032 is a lithium ion battery... I thought ours were rechargeable?

Not rechargable and there's no ability in the fob to do so.

D3 (and pre-2010 RRS) is rechargeable, D4 is not

    Thanks for the replies,

So if the key fob goes flat and you are out bush, can you open the doors with the key and the car start. I am wondering if the fob dis-arms the imobilizer.

Best to add a battery to the list of spares.
Now if I can just remember where I put the spare brake switch, height sensor, fittings for GOE emergency air up kit, code reader, doh!
    Brett.....
