Broken Rear light cluster x2 :-(

So I come home and find the bin has been blown over and has put a nice big hole in my rear light cluster, considering that the wife had already cracked the other side I thought it might be best to replace the pair.

So now I need to replace both sides on my 2005 D3 TDV6 HSE.

Is it worth upgrading to D4 LED rear light cluster and if so where is the best place to purchase without being ripped off?

Otherwise, would anyone have recommendations of where to buy the original set in Sydney?

Ouch, feel your pain! Did that a week before a trade-in but the dealer let it through.
Wasn't going to be cheap though. The corner of a bin is just the right level to damage :-(

I bought two new complete D3 tail lights for $250 from memory, I believe the guy had another set there as well.

If you like I will check when I get back on Friday.
    Cheers,
    Terry

Mine came from LRDirect in the UK. About $350 for the pair, OEM (Valeo branded). They came in a shipment with a load of other big stuff, so couldn't tell you what they'd cost to ship separately.

Was that $250 each Terry? If not, that's a really good price. I stuck my original D3 ones on eBay and I got $330 for the pair!

I'm not complaining, costing me $20 to upgrade from D3 to D4 rear lights.

The pair, old stock from when the D3 was first introduced into Australia.

BTW, hows the D3 project going, I looked at your thread and you had just got the D4 grill and bonnet for it.

I just bought a pair of RRS rear light housings and two side blinker housings of ebay Aust for $148 the pair .

Why? - well same issue, backed into the garbage bin and the handle punched a whole in the passenger side light.

Certainly have - the outers have a short range and sounded just as the handle of the wheelie bin which is outside the sensor zone hit the light housing.

However I was not as vigilant as I would be normally as the sensors always sound at that spot as the sensors pick up the road surface and sound when backing out my drive.
