    D3 Awning options

    Hi Everyone,

    Have decided to install the awning to my D3,however mine doesn't have the factory roof racks. Should I just go for the rhino bars roof rack or go with the rhino pioneer roof platform tray. The difference in price is $800. The rhino bars will do the job of providing support to the awning, however am not sure how well we can secure or carry items on it. all I see is people carrying their ladder or kayaks. Please advise.

    I have the frontrunner roof rack on my D3 with a Hannibal awning..it works perfectly and never comes off the rack.It has been on for a couple of years now.

    If you get a solid rack such as the frontrunner you can then mount a rooftop tent or other things a lot easier

    I am using thule roof bars (that I originally had on a subaru forrester) on my D3 and recently purchased a Foxwing awning.

    Absolutely no problems, I do not think you need the platform, if that was your question, roof bars are fine for supporting and awning.

    Thanks guys...fitting the Rhino bars and 2500mm awning with 3 wall tent setup.......have booked camping spots in bribie island already....
