D3 roof rail cover or roof racks?

    Hi guys,

Our new D3 doesn't have any roof racks, I assume they have been removed prior to sale / is there anything I can get to blank the rails?

I'm worried water is pooling there, and could be a breeding ground for rust.

I plan of getting racks in the future, but even then is it normal for the track to be open and water to potentially pool there?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Mike

A photo would help showing what you actually have or Don't have!
But if your D3 has the standard rails then no further covers are required.

Hi Rich, attached are the photos.
Water pools on those areas all the way along.

Well they are not Genuine Roof Rails, someone here on the forum must have similar rails and can shed some light on them.

When I wash my car water does sit in the rear of the long rails.....the car slopes uphill slightly.

Quick dab of chamy removes it.

When I drive forward it runs out anyway.

Have checked 5 minutes later and no evidence of any residual water.

    Thanks Gents.

Rich, right.. Would genuine ones have this issue not present?

summer is here so it's not an issue but in the winter if its always going to be wet then it's going to rust I think.

Any ideas? What brand could this be?

It's a Rhino Racks track with front. I have them on my D4. As said by Brett, as soon as you drive they drain. The bolts which attach them to the roof stop water ingress. I wouldn't worry about it.

Sorry boys, what would the rhino fitting be called?

RLTF? I understand there's only certain types that will actually attach?

I think just rhino roof rails that suit the discovery.
