I think you'll find all dealers have a finely-tuned Sales Prevention Department. I've had similar experiences at several dealerships over the past three or four years, Audi and LR included. At the Audi dealer I walked in, wandered around for ten minutes before some young guy bothered to ask me anything, finally chose a car, told him to add up the options I wanted and give me a call with a price.
