You were coasting into the corner? Then yes, the D3 can dither a bit deciding what gear to choose. There's a few threads on the forum about this. Keep a light, consistent pressure on the accelerator and it'll pick a gear no dramas.

While taking a 25 klm corner, slightly uphill.
D3 was still proceeding under inertia, but it clearly lost drive, and sounded like it was hunting for a gear.
Only for a second or 2 but got my attention.
Is this normal?
Jim.

Thanks for your reply White D3.
I was being light on the throttle.
Still getting used to it.
To be honest I prefer to drive my old D1, with manual gears and coil springs. It is more predictable and has much better feedback. The D3 feels too insulated to be able to read what's actually happening.
Completely understand that. After many years of D1 & D2 ownership, I felt like I was getting out of a 4wd and getting into a car when I bought the D3. Took me a year or so to get used to.
For someone who hasn't had a 4wd before, I think you just press the buttons and away you go, but for someone who has driven conventional 4wds it doesn't really feel right at first. It does give good feedback, but its different, you just need to understand it. Once you do, and you realise how clever it is, you won't want to go back.
Cheers,
Jon

It's funny, but I'm probably cornering faster at times, but I don't feel connected. I have to watch what I'm doing like a Hawk.\Just at the time in life when I'm probably losing perception and skills.
