    Temp vs Boost

    Hi All

I was towing the van and boost was an issue. The max boost I could get 16psi vs up to 24psi. Air temp was 35deg engine temp was over 100 and I was climbing a steep hill. Cooler days its back to around 22psi.

Was the engine trying to protect its self with the lower boost?

    Mowog,

I have a 3 litre and get as high as 30psi in boost.

I guess in the right conditions the computer reduces boost, but I have towed on a hot day with 3.5 tonne, and well over 100 water temperature on climbs, and boost still as high at 30psi if I put my foot down.

You will not get full boost on a very hot day as the air is thinner as you would on a cool day and the air is more dense. the perfect conditions are cool with a fog as there is then water in the air that does not compress.

    Just my opinion
