    Covers for Leather Seats

Hi All and Happy New Year.

I have an MY13 D4 and was wondering what advice is offered by those owners who 'go bush' from time to time about protecting their leather seats.

I guess a seat cover but not sure of which type. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Bob

The ones from Exmoor Trim are good quality and airbag compatible.

Leather is remarkably good and lasts well. I was going to but didn't bother. No regrets.

I have fitted sheepskin to the front seats and velour to the rear seats of both the D2 (which the son now owns) and the D4 - from Prestige Sheepskin.

Their factory is in Malaga in Perth, but they have agencies all over Australia. Very good product - custom made to suit the vehicle (even have the Landrover logo in the centre of the backrest of the front seats).

I find that they are much more comfortable on long trips than the original leather. They're easy to keep clean - and are much cooler to sit on in hot sunny conditions (my D4 has black leather interior).
    Cheers .........

How do they compare with leather for feel and comfort and how well does the surface of the leather tolerate them?

The stitching in the centre of my driver's seat base is coming undone and the synthetic sides are cracking.

    So far so good Graeme
No marks on the back seats which have been on longest and tolerate the dogs jumping and bouncing all over them.

I cleaned and treated the leather before fitting the covers and they look like new.

The seats feel just like sitting on a wetsuit.

Added bonus is less sliding around offroad

I might have to find a wetsuit, having not ever been near one.
