    D4 Misfuel Device

    Hi All,

    Last couple of times I've refuelled I had to bring the pressure on really slowly on the bowser, as it kept spitting fuel back and clicking the trigger off.

    Then I noticed (sunlight was shining right in the hole) that the mis-fuel device had deployed.

    Don't know why that's happened as the car has definately never had a petrol pump in the nozzle. Anybody experienced this before?

    Interesting to note though ...... you can still fill the tank with fuel, even with it deployed. Maybe it's just got shaken loose and hasn't completely activated or something.

    I'll get round to resetting it next time I remember .... LOL!!!

    Hi Kev,
    Yes - I've had this after I put fuel in from my jerry can via metal flexible spout - which is the same size as petrol bowser nozzles! I'm now careful not to stick the spout too far in, as it trips the device.

    Bingo ..... that's what it was Rob ...... I refuelled on Moreton Island just before Xmas using jerry cans with nozzles.

    Now I don't have to worry .... other than with the fact that you can actually still get fuel into the tank with it deployed ... LOL!!!

    I have had diesel bowsers trip the misfueling device on my Vogue, I find not sticking the nozzle in so far alleviates the problem.

    I had it happen when the diesel nozzle is of the smaller variety. Now I always angle the nozzle slightly upward to catch the inbuilt stop which stops the trigger of the device.

    I had 2007 Vogue, always had a hard time at the bowser.The dealer got sick of me complaining and noticed that there was a service bulletin from Landrover indicating several RR Vogue's had the wrong size filler neck fitted at time of manufacturing. My car was in that batch, Land Rover replaced it then never had a problem.
    I now have a D4 and sometimes HiFlo pumps will set it off.

    I found fitting the LR fuel tank solved all the fuelling issues

    Corrugations will set it off as well,mine tripped on the road between Fink and Mt Dare.The road did have the worst corrugations i have ever encountered.
    Had never tripped before and hasn't done it since.

    I have filled from jerries many times,but keep the nozzle in a minimum amount,and never tripped it.
