Had a leaking transfer case to repair this week, just take a squiz at what is required to replace a simple output shaft seal (I took no photos etc so this post explains it well)....
DISCO3.CO.UK - View topic - Guide: Replacement of Transfer Box Seals
Made difficult in this vehicle by the amount of mud and detritus baked onto everything, and don't believe it when the poster says that the circlip was easily removed using a couple of flat blade screwdrivers...we used 2 pairs of hands and 3 little jewellers screwdrivers......
Make no mistake it is no small task so don't fall over when you get a circa $800 to $900 quote to do this job.

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
it wasn't a particularly difficult job ean, just the frustration of going to this length to replace a seal that failed due to corrosive mud and dirt ingress, whereas on any lt95 or lt230 it is at best a 30 minute job
still, test driving it afterwards and all is forgiven, they are a great ride

If it leaked enough oil the dirt/mud wouldnt stick.
