D4 water in fuel warning light

    Hi guys,
The water in fuel warning light had been coming on and off recently. Is this something I can address, or do I need to take the car to the dealer? It was only serviced about 2mths ago, but not sure if they touched the filter or not (18000km).

    Thanks
    Simon

You will probably need to get some one to look at it. It is most likely a Water in. Fuel sensor fault rather than actual water in fuel. I had one of these and it was intermittent until they tracked down the broken wire where it goes into the fuel filter housing. reading fault code will tell you if it's a sensor fault or if is actually say water in fuel. I have not done it but you can drain the water once you get to the fuel filter. Most likely a fault with sensor wiring if intermittent.

    Regards
    Gerry

I've had this alarm come up once just after a shallow water crossing. Never reoccurred.
