    Chip and exhaust

Well Glenn Hadden has confirmed on Facebook that he is doing R&D on a chip and exhaust for the D4, and has stated that it has more power than his boosted 200.

    Looking forward to the outcome.

Would love to see results on this, and hear the sound, I've got the 155kw version, a chip and exhaust should make a massive difference

Exhaust upgrade I have no issue with.
Plug n play chips..... More power, more smoke, more noise.
    But at your own peril.
    Been there, done that.
    Not again.
    No thanks.

Had a Chipit in my Prado.
Worked by increasing fuel rail pressure and boosting turbo.
But a very crude way in doing so.
Power increase was impressive. Very impressive.
Lots of smoke from exhaust - ok, more fuel burnt, so more soot.
However, I believe extra rail pressure and change parameters created the awful engine rattle noise - imagine shaking a milo tin full of ball bearings.
Sounded like she was about to blow.
Thought I had the prado death rattle. Google pradopoint death rattle.
Removed chip and all went back to normal. Had engine tested and injectors and everything normal. No harm done.
Chipit told me extra noise was normal with the chip. Nah, don't think so. Not that much noise. No engine makes that sort of noise and last very long IMO.
In the end was happy with the small power boost the exhaust upgrade got me over the next 3 years..
Then I test drove D4 SDV6. Loved the power and no need for chips. Bought one.

I guess that's sort of my point, the tdv6 is an identical engine to the sdv6 only detuned, to a remap should help regain that, for a lot less than the price diff between the models. And yes, if I could have stretched to the sdv6 I would have, but not all of us have that money to burn
