    Thanks.

I like the look of it too (obviously) but it's not to everyone's taste. From what I've read on this forum the majority don't think the LR would hold up too well to a roo hit. As Tombie mentioned earlier in this thread, the LR bar is almost on top of the body panels unlike the ECB bar for example (don't know about other bars personally). I too didn't mind the look of the LR bar but turned to ECB because of opinion here about the LR bar plus the cost. I fitted the ECB bar, a Milford cargo barrier, a GME radio and Fyrlyt driving lights for little more than the LR bar fitted. The ECB bar also allowed the front sensors to be used. If you look at the pics you'll see two white dots. These are the sensors from the original bumper bar fitted to the ECB bar. The other two are black.

I don't mind the look of that ECB bar from the front either - and I know that ECB make a good solid bar (there's an alloy one on my old D2 that my young bloke has now, and I've cleaned up my fair share of roos with that one).

But I also agree that preference for appearance is dependent on the individual. While I like the look of that bar from the front - the side view with the wheel arches left intact just doesn't look right to me. I prefer the ARB style where the arches / flares are cut off and the side of the bar extends back to the wheel arches ................. but that's just my opinion.

What do you think of the Fyrlyt's ...............

    Cheers .........

The Fyrlyts provide a very good spread of light. It is most noticeable when you turn them off but leave the high beam on. You realise just how much more of the scenery that you can see than without them. I haven't been out in the country at night as yet but I am certainly very happy with them. I based my decision to buy on easily replaceable componentry, local support (buy Australian), the build and materials quality and their performance. I read a lot of reviews as well as forum discussion here which is where I first heard about them. Had Ralleyes on my last 4wd and these are better IMHO.

Thanks Tombie. Some Terrain Response stickers would be great. I remember you posting about the Fyrlyts a while back and have often thought about trying a set. The blue things on it are Britax X-Ray Vision HID's. Not bad, but not as good as the Hella Predators.

I took the Predators off a while back as the globes in them were finally beginning to give up the ghost, and Hella wanted a ridiculous price for new ones. They've been on at least 4 different vehicles now over more than 10 years (the old style Predators with external ballast) - and the output from the globes eventually dropped off and went yellow.

Have now got a new set of globes for them - for nothing - it pays to have the right contacts through work - so will probably put them back together and re-fit them one day when I get the time.

Cheers Martin. Good to also get another opinion on these. My young bloke might be in the market for a set soon - he recently asked me should he buy Fyrlyts, Lightforce or Roo Lights.

I told him to look at a set of Fyrlyts purely based on a post I had seen on here by Tombie some time ago.
    Cheers .........

I am toying with the idea of fitting one. The finance minister has approved the spending. I would like to know if any one here has had it fitted.
    Cheers

I managed to find a genuine bar on ebay for $1,100 earlier in the year and being fairly handy with the spanners figured that it couldn’t be that hard to fit. After reading the 30+ pages of double sided instructions and a long weekend spent in the shed I stand corrected, however imho the results were worth the effort.
As far as protection goes the factory bar is an improvement over the plastic bumper and would be ok for small roos but it's nowhere near as solid as an arb/ecb bull bar.
