    Bluetooth Update

    Hi All,
I was reading on a UK website that the bluetooth software can be updated.
This will then show phone book details on the screen.
Has anyone done this or know of any Australian service place for this?

    Cheers,

    Nick.

I have a MY13 D4 HSE and when I connect my phone via blue tooth that option is already available. I haven't done anything special to my phone. Although it is a recent purchase it's a previous model to the current one. Samsung S4 is current but I have the S3.

SDV6 SE also has this functionality

    Hi there,

I have an MY12 SE and I can search my contacts list via Bluetooth. I only have the standard sound system with no satnav.

What year model do you have?

    Luke

This is an issue with my 2006 - D3. I think it is with all D3 as well.
I can only get phonebook when hardwired so it doesn't work with my Iphone.
from what i read you can get the Bluetooth software updated to a newer version that will retrieve the phonebook.
I know my laptop has had bluetooth updates over the years so it makes sense I guess.

this is the provider in the UK:
    http://www.bluetoothexchange.co.uk/

    quote from his site:
"This will cure any pairing issues you have and bring up the contacts on the navigation screen (ffrr only) or radio display in the Discovery 3/Sport."

    G'Day Nick.
For your reference, I have a RRS MY2006 with the Nokia PTI kit, and an iPhone 4S. The Nokia PTI kit contains the Bluetooth module.
I got Bodsy on the RRSport UK forum (the same Bodsy on the DiscoUK forums) to send me an updated Bluetooth phone module. It's actually an entire replacement of the Nokia PTI module which is mounted inside the right side compartment in the luggage area.
The swap over is pretty straight forward, if not fiddly due to the accessibility of the torx screws which hold the module in place.
I now don't need to pair my phone every time I start the car. I can see all my phonebook entries on the screen. However, the RRS voice activation feature tells me that my phonebook is empty. Not a big deal because I always use the iPhone voice activation anyway. My main reason for wanting the upgraded Bluetooth software was to address the pairing issue.
The swap with Bodsy is on a change-over basis. I believe he would be using an IID ScanTool or a Nanocom or something to perform the software upgrade on the returned modules.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi AS,
Yes must be the same thing. Main upgrade for me would be having the phone book to dial from instead of my dodgy memory!
My pairing isn't an issue. Volume has been an issuea few times but i don't think that is due to the Bluetooth.
    Cheers.
