    Question Cold Drinks

Hi Guys, m proud owner of MY12 HSE Disco4, this is my second Disco (previous Disco 3 SE TDV6) I have one question???? this Disco has the drink cooler in the console :: which I find just about useless compared to the "Oh wat a feeln" Jap version. I am suspecting the Toyota is cooled by the aircon unit & the Disco relies on an inefficient element system. Have any of you guys encountered this "low 2 no cool stubby problem" or perhaps do I have a Warren Tee problem??/ or is there a FIX to my delima
    Kind regards
    Ross

I have the cubby cooler in my RRS and it works great - works best with the drinks cool to start off but even when they are not the cubby will pull the temp of the drinks down to below 5 degrees pretty quickly.

Just remeber it only operates when the vehicle is running and for a few minutes afterwards. They do draw a few amps so keep that in mind if you bypass the CJB and power it direct from the main or aux battery.

Mine runs from the car systems all the time if switched on - it has standard wiring - no modifications. So I do have to remember to switch it off. I forgot one time and it was still running 14 hours later and the car started OK.

    Here is my drinks cooler

You do have to get out to get your drink, but then you shouldn't drink and drive in any case.

I think it's just a straight swap over in all the d3/4 models. I fit an original equipment one to mine and the power was already there to plug into.

As far as I know the only difference between the D3 and the D4 one is something to do with the power being on all the time or maybe it's a low voltage cutout in the D3?

But at the end of the day they are very power hungry and will use more power to keep 4 cans cool (the 500ml ones fit perfect) than an Engel will use to keep 24cans freezing.

When I looked at the 200 series it blew me away how cold their one got so quickly and the decent size to but, I steered clear of the land rover one because it was just to small for my liking hard to use
