    Wiper blades

I tried finding the Bosch blades, but had no luck in town (regional qld). I could've ordered them online, but seems a bit over the top for wiper blades. I kept reading on this forum that I could get the right blades from repco/supercheap etc... So in the end, I took the disco to the local repco store. They found the right wipers from their standard repco brand in stock (they have multiple adaptors to fit most vehicles) and fitted them for me.

As said previously, the rear wiper is a standard slide in/out (old style) wiper which you can cut to length.

All very easy in the end, and pretty cheap (about $50 all up for the 3 blades if I remember correctly).

And they've lasted 6+ months with no problems so far!

I also did the hunt around Supercheap/Repco etc. I ended up ordering online from Amazon. Bosch 22-CA Clear Advantage Beam Wiper Blade - 22"

I paid around $55 (plus postage)....but I got 2 sets instead of just one. That way I have a spare set in the shed for next time. If you know what you want, online can be great.

Given that ordering directly from Bosch Australia costs about $65 plus postage for one set, I managed to get over any "support the local" guilt. Support the local should go both ways i.e. they should support me by not charging double for the same thing!!

Also, it's delivered right to my door and means I don’t have to go to the store, which inevitably has me working out a few hundred bucks lighter and an arm full of stuff I didn’t realise I need till I saw it in store.

Sorry. I should have mentioned that I use a forwarding service. If you set yourself up an account, you get a permanent USA address. I use shipitto.com

I've heard about setting up a forwarding address in the states but don't understand how it works. You wouldn't be able to give us any pointers ?

If you google "usa forwarding" you'll find a number of services that do it. Personally, i use 'shipitto.com' and have never had an issue. They let you know when the package has arrived and will hold it over if you have other things coming so you can consolidate shipping into one box.

I have bought things like replacement lamps for my video projector, thermarest sleeping mats (at least half what you would pay here) windscreen wiper blades, as well as kids clothes, which are super cheap even compared with target, and very good quality.

Happy for you to PM me as this is really getting off topic as far as D4's are concerned!

+1 for the forwarders have had good experience with comgateway and borderlinx they both have shipping calculators but it helps to know the weight and package dimensions before you have a package waiting at their warehouse ( to avoid an unexpected ransom. )

I just replaced my wiper blades on the D4 and used Tridon TFB22H
Got them from Supercheap and they work well. Think they around the $55 mark.

Just be careful when ordering online. I used Get Car Bitz and 'they' came as a set -- as a set of 1! My fault so not complaining, just a lesson for someone else.
