    $11000 ono 07 D3

    How does $11000ono for a 2007 D3 sound????
Add says its dropped a valve.I believe its the dreaded timing chain issue that effected Ford Explorers with the same engine. Its expensive and not easy to fix.

Looks a bargain to me! What do you reckon the chances are of importing an Explorer engine from the US?

    I did some research.
They are a non-inteference motor so there will be no internal damge. They have 3 timing chains, and one is at the rear of the motor.Motor out to fix.On a D3 that means body of chassis doesnt it????
    Where is JC????

I don't know about the petrol V6, but the TDV6 can have the heads removed without lifting the body. It's more difficult, but doable from what I've read.

If you end up changing the engine, then it'll be a body off job (not as bad as it sounds).

Ive been lurking in the D3/4 arena for a bit (i.e. wanna be owner - no expert).

It sounds like cost of body lift is $3-4K.

A mate has a Ford Exploder. His motor carked it just after the GFC. Ford were nearly giving them away. The later motor is still going well by all accounts.

Its not the D3 Im chasing,it would be a reasonable cheap fixer upper if the motor doesnt need to come out.

    Hellooo

Body off and on about $1100. Factor in A/C regas etc and engine swap over, maybe another $700.

    Not a biggy.

Not my preferred model of D3 though, TdV6 is a far better option.

For those with to much time on their hands, Be fun to try and adapt a Chev or ls motor too?

I have a mate with a low km v10 dodge viper motor sitting around he purchased as he could. He doesn't know what he is going to do with it.

    Cheers

I think it is too expensive. I saw a running V6 D3 with mid 200K on ebay with a buy it now of $15K.
I Think you will be able to buy a good TDV6 for $15-17K soon.
There are just too many variables when the motor doesn't run. eg. Is the transmission OK? ($6K to rebuild)
