Known issue for large butts but dealer should replace under warranty.
Has anyone had this happen ? The door seal has disintegratedCar is only 5 months old and I first noticed it about two weeks ago. I could see my butt hitting that part of the seal when entering the car however I would hope that this type of problem wouldn't happen due to that.
Any ideas before I refer to the dealer.

I had mine go after 6 months but I caught it before it got that bad. Mine was replaced under warranty.
Issue on d3 as well - at 9 years old I'm on my third ! Easy to change and they should do it under warranty I'd think.
Just noticed it on my RRS - 08MY, driver and passenger front.
Lucky I'm a bloke - a woman would take offence at thatMust ask my wife if my butt looks big in my jeans though
For the record, my butt's not that big. I have my seat back as far as possible as I'm 6'2" (ok I'm oldish) and you brush against that seal quite easily on entry and exit. Now that I know about the delicate nature of the seal I'll be more careful in future.
Good to know it's covered by warranty.

I am on my third in the D3.![]()
I have had three new ones in my D3 and it needs another one now, it is a very poor design/quality.
I guess that says something about my butt![]()
Mine has gone drivers side. I t has a lot to do with how you get out of the vehicle. I have side steps but still slide out the door.
D4 2.7litre
