    Question Shutting Down - Storage

So heading OS for 4-5 weeks. And wanted to know what is the best way to leave the D4 garaged for this time?

Do I disconnect battery? What are the implications?
Do I leave the car locked or unlocked?
Do I leave it on a trickle charger eg C Tek?
    Suspension locked down on access?

What are implications if any leaving the car connected/ disconnected for this time? I have heard some stories and thoughts, however welcome anyone's input and experiences as I want zero issues upon return.

    Cheers
    JB

Went OS in 2011 for 3 months & the last thing on my mind was the D4.
Just left it locked in the garage at normal height setting & when i returned the vehicle started straight up & didn't have any issues. But my battery was in good condition as prior to leaving i did a trip to Wagga.
    HTH.

    JB.

Make sure you fill the fuel tank with fuel before leaving it in storage.
This will prevent water vapour in the tank condensing into water and causing you problems in future (especially if it's a diesel!).

If you are really worried, leave it on trickle charge; was at an evening at an Italian marque's dealership in Waterloo, and all their cards were on trickle charge.

I'm OS at the moment. Before I left I turned off the engel and left it open so mould didn't grow, filled the fuel tanks and connected a trickle charger to the main battery.

Next time I will put on my 0.8 amp ctek charger.

Last time, 4 weeks away, she was completely dead.....showing about 7 Volts from memory.

Batteries are too expensive to risk having them go that low.

Thanks Alan, however I have always left tanks low as fuel goes stale when left? Fresh fuel = better?

I believe that is more to to do with petrol. As mentioned previously, with diesel, it is the exposure to the atmosphere and moisture in it that is the greatest risk.
